E27: Take a Hike Diabetes Kickoff with Mila Clarke + Julianne Mahoney
We're kicking off Take a Hike, Diabetes with an EPIC conversation around the Virtual Campfire. Join me, Mila Clarke, and Julianne Mahoney as we chat about intuitive eating, snacks for outdoor adventures, recipe sharing, and how to navigate nutrition for people with diabetes.
Mila Clarke is a diabetes patient advocate with Type 1.5 Diabetes (LADA), and the founder of The Hangry Woman blog, which shares approachable food and lifestyle tips to help others living with all types of diabetes. HangryWoman.com covers topics like diabetes management, shame and stigma, cooking, and self-care from the perspective of someone living with the chronic condition. Mila’s work has been featured by The New York Times, Healthline, WebMD, GE, Health and Diabetic Living Magazine.
Julianne Mahoney, aka The Outdoor RD, is a Registered Dietitian focused on bringing intuitive eating to the outdoors and helping women heal their relationships with food, their bodies, and exercise. She brings her expertise in three domains; “Love Your Wild” - sharing tips and tricks for self-love, “Fuel Your Wild” - teaching clients how to reestablish themselves as the experts in their body’s wants and needs (versus listening to diet culture myths), and “Find Your Wild” - working together with clients to find movement that makes their body and soul truly happy.
