Social Responsibility
In this space you will find the actions we have taken to make our community more inclusive, our resources for equity work and discussion, as well as interviews, articles, and statements about the issues we face and are passionate about as an organization.
Before joining our community and signing up for one of our programs or retreats, we recommend reviewing our policies to ensure that you clearly understand the spaces you're about to occupy.
We have a zero tolerance policy for explicit racist, misogynistic, homophobic, fatphobic, ____________ (insert all the hateful phobias and -isms here) behaviors around these parts, and we know that we are more alike than we are different. That being said, we are all humans and we can hurt each other unknowingly - for which we will do our best to facilitate space to work through our independent unlearning.
The worst day of our lives may be very different, but as a starting place for connection and community, we share at least one thing in common - we are still here to talk about it.
If you have any questions, please fill out the form below.
Learning and unlearning.
In Practice:
PRONOUNS: We’ve asked all of our community members to add their pronouns to their Zoom name
LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS: We include land acknowledgements on social media posts and at the beginning of the Virtual Campfire. When we host in-person events, we open events with a land acknowledgement.
SOCIAL MEDIA INCLUSIVITY: When we host contests/giveaways on social media, we invite folks with private profiles to send screenshots of their posts to protect their privacy.
In Progress:
BOARD MEMBERS: our goal is to ensure a broad representation of identities on the board of directors as we slowly expand and build this area of our nonprofit. If you’re interested in joining the board, click here to start the conversation!
